I continue to make my own version of the cosy game, Short Trip. In this video I start to replace all the placeholders in the last video with hand drawn pieces of scenery. I also discuss the complications that this brought but the final version at the end of the video is starting to look really nice. My Pirate Radio Rig with the CZE-05B Transmitter: Equipment, Software and Ideas
Просмотров 923 месяца назад
This is my CZE-05B Transmitter that was given to me to fix. This is a hangover from the Covid days as there were plans to do events with people sat in their cars in various car parks. I don't need to tell you to check your laws before doing anything like this. This pirate radio project is purely for educational purposes and any testing was conducted out in the field (literally!) to avoid any co...
Radio Oddities Discovered on the Air - Numbers Stations, Spooky Transmissions and Morse code
Просмотров 1793 месяца назад
For the last eight months I have been running an online radio station that hunts out shortwave and amateur radio transmissions. I then play them over a various ambient backing tracks to create a relaxing yet creepy audio experience. Hosting the show was a great deal of fun, we were able to listen out for Numbers Stations, intercept messages from satellites as well as Morse code and other amateu...
The Great Train Hack (Update)
Просмотров 703 месяца назад
A year ago I started to write a little program to announce bogus train arrivals for a bit of fun. Here is an update on how this project is developing. Here is the link to the video of the original idea: ruclips.net/video/uqsBHzoGSs4/видео.html Updates include a better user interface, scheduled announcements and hacking a UK pedestrian crossing button to have the program announce the time in the...

What's your call sign friend
Do you still have that email reading furby?
this is actually remarkable, ill take 14

A good first contact video. ++
In the US if you call CQ on any frequency about 30mHz people will laugh to themselves and not answer you. It's considered more of a call to make in HF, not VHF or UHF. Say anything but CQ here across the pond if you ever visit over here.
looks cool
Available in the US?
Jackpot the RUclips short show me something I am actually interested in
Great! Are you tempted to make your own Gameboy games too? GB Studio is great if you're starting out.
where can i get this?
Lit
Congrats on getting it published!
In Australia we have something called the universal service obligation and its government law Telstra have to provide pay phones in Australia to everyone
just found this. download the pdf and will print it tomorrow and will give it a try and let you know. 73
Thanks! It's just a starting point. I'm keen to develop the idea further throughout the year, so any suggestions you might have would be really helpful.
I surely will give feedback as I play it more.
Amazing video 🎉
Enjoyable video- I've been thinking of making a "Zoltar" type machine and also thought the BBC Micro:bit is ideal for my non existant coding skills (blocks is my limit!)- I love the furby eyes- no idea how they are triggered. I've been thinking of having a variety of symbols and a random one will appear on the LED screen and each symbol will refer to a different prediction (I figured scrolling messages may be too hard to read). I'd love to use a servo motor or two for physical action more akin to the actual Zoltar. Great to see your creative solution.
Thanks for the great comment! I learnt how to trigger motors using this tutorial on Instructables: www.instructables.com/Use-Arduino-with-TIP120-transistor-to-control-moto/ It's for the Arduino but works with a Microbit's digital pin output. I just hook it into the motor of the old Firby's that controls the eyes and turn it on when Zoltar is thinking and off when he's delivered his answer. Also, if you're not confident coding, maybe Scratch would help you with displaying random symbols on a screen. You can also connect the Microbit and Scratch up to work together.
@@RustyRocketProjects Thank you for your very kind information- I didn't know that the Micro:bit could be powerful enough to operate a motor with just a few components.
You need to find an artist that Midjourney used to train their AI. Then, you can put the name of the artist into the prompt to get a "style," so it looks like the same artist worked on it.
Coming along nicely, the art style is very nice
Hi will you sell the Zoltar to me?
Hi this is fantastic can you assist me with where to order the electronic parts?
Cq is not called on 2m. Cq is called on hf.
Remember, FT8 is no cure for mic shyness but it certainly fixes the symptoms.
Is the game finished, if so where can i download it?
The game is finished, yes. Everything is in the hands of the publisher now. All the box art and instruction booklet has been designed and they look so, so nice. It shouldn't be too long before it goes into production on physical cartridge.
If you like nemo, try Bruce, it’s very nice
Great stuff. Liked and subscribed.
I don't know if you're still answering questions here but what is the range for this transmitter? and what is the broadcasting power of it?
Cheers mate I find these songs really funny
What! That's awesome!
Where'd you get the phone from?
fascinating.
where i live , i checked a list of active payphones . quite an extensive list. will most likely go down as the national utility here is abandoning home phones and copper lines .
This looks useful, anything that helps me with music is a good thing
My Name Is Fur-Bee. - Mowgwai
Tbh I haven't watched the video nor read the 4 comments. Just wanted to swoop in and drop the observation that despite the good intentions of educational efforts like this one, some of us with certain types of dyslexia simply can't keep track of the various codes regardless of earnest study. I've got my Ph.D. in planetary science, good at my job and research, but even after typing a 243 page thesis, a 250 page dissertation and unknown thousands of pages of reports, briefings, proposals, reviews etc etc... I still can't exactly locate most keys on the keyboards I've spent literally years using. It's like a fuzzy jamming filter springs up and blocks the exact specifics (until you direct your attention elsewhere. then it'll spring up into your thoughts regardless of the context. Can I call you back with that name when I think of it at 3 a.m.?!). So, for me, CW without automation is simply a non-starter. At a breakfast meeting I had to insist to an Elmer for at least 20 minutes that after striving strong several times over the years I was just never going to become functional in CW. Alas, but reality.
Imagine that ….
LOVE IT
Now that I have an announcement system, I did think about making a text-based, train-based choose you own adventure game with audio announcements. I think that would work really well.
@@RustyRocketProjects definitely, I look forward to seeing it
Great information!
Saturday’s would be Junior Bamboozle with Buster!
If you need another opinion I will gladly test it.
That is so cool!! Can you do this for gb studio too??? Just discovered your channel and it looks really cool!! :)
@marygoglia Hi, that's a lovely comment to read, thank you. If you search through my video Shorts you'll find one that demonstrates it being used with GB Studio. If you drop me an email, I'll send you a guide about how I did it. Jez.whitworth@googlemail.com
Just on the start line for my foundation. Books i have and experience from AM and FM Dx'ing back in the 80's. Gonna be a breeze, NO 😅, im tackling this properly and joind a local club with great bunch of full licenses for HAM on my journey now 😊.... Mic shy yer been there but it's just the with people sitting with me on this new chapter of amateur radio, im old school and things are a little different. Only have old 80's rigs so im right at the infant stage of purchasing equipment and im gonna wait for guidance from the club before i buy on my own initiative lol. Anyway great video thankyou. Kev.

id unironically use this daily
This is such an encouraging video. Thank you very much!
Thanks for a great video! Being a retired police officer, paramedic, and firefighter, I have made hundreds of thousands of radio calls. The procedure in those cases is really straightforward. I’m a newly licensed ham, only 1 day old, and have been really nervous about making my first radio call because I didn’t know the procedure. The testing material doesn’t fully prepare you for that, but I feel confident enough after your video to make my first call later today. It’s a bit early in the morning to do that now, but once everyone has started their day, I’m going to reach out on 2m, and see who answers!! KQ4USN
Thank is such a kind comment to leave, thank you! Congratulations on getting your licence, I hope you get a great deal of enjoyment from the hobby.
But besides range info, what do you actually talk about?
Whatever you or the person you’re talking to is doing that day, the weather, the radios and antennas being used. The other person you’re talking to has been waiting for someone to key up and chat with, they are hoping to hear from you.
Can u use super glue instead of souldering it? I’m trying to do the same. Or is souldering the only way?
